      Rated 5 out of 5�by ScanTastic Been using Epson scanners since scanners were invented for home and business use. Nothing else comes close. This was purchased to test out the LED light source and to see how the colors of different types of paint reflect with LEDs as opposed to fluorescents. So far so good. The only thing I didn't realize was that the transparency adapter was not like their pas units. It only has a very small light source in the lid. I'm used to the ability to scan film or transparencies (like X-Rays) on the flatbed if necessary. But no biggie. We don't often scan film. March 21, 2016
      Rated 4 out of 5�by My new scanner Just got it set up. This is replacing an older unit that had gotten long in the tooth. I believe I'll be happy with it. The usb and power connections are in a unusual place due to the way I had to orient it on my desk. Maybe it's time for a new desk! I have many old photos and slides to copy, shame I've tossed a lot of negatives, they probably would have given me a cleaner copy. March 14, 2016

      Rated 5 out of 5�by I fixed it! I've had this scanner for 3 years and it's performed beautifully, mostly working with old 35mm slides. However, the last couple batches of images started having streaks in them and getting worse all the time. I combed the troubleshooting pages and went on line looking for help with no results. I uninstalled the unit and started thinking about a new one. Three months later I decided to give it one more try. Reinstalled everything and scanned a couple of slides.. Still streaks. Back to the online help pages. FINALLY I found one little sentence saying to clean the glass table (which I had done 100 times) AND the transparency window unit in the lid. All I had to do was clean that with a damp cloth and EUREKA! no more streaks. That one little sentence at the very bottom of the maintenance page did it and that's the only place I found it mentioned. This needs to be in the Q and A section, but it's not. If you are having the same problem, give it a try. February 15, 2016
